Help me pick a 2010 picture of the year!
I meant to post this on Saturday, but I ended up posting those fireworks pictures instead, because I liked how they turned out. So here is my second and last "year in review" post --help me pick a "best picture of 2010" shot by posting in the comments with the number of the one you like. :-) Here's a link →
Maui Day 6: Going home
So as I write this, I'm actually already home and it's Sunday night -- we got home late Christmas Eve (Friday) after a quite uncrowded flight home. Nothing says awesome like an exit row all to yourself. Two, in fact -- John took one and I took one, and we both stretched out and slept. Now that's an awesome plane →
We wish you a Merry Christmas
For those of you that celebrate the day, may you all spend it with your friends, families, and other loved ones. And whether or not you celebrate the day, and do so in a religious or secular manner, wishes for peace on earth and goodwill toward all never hurt anyone. So peace, y'all, and Merry Christmas. :-) ~ Guess I don't have →
Maui Day 5: Mele Kalikimaka is NOT the thing to say (unless you really want an earworm)
Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say On a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day That's the island greeting that we send to you From the land where palm trees sway Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way To say "Merry Christmas to you". Poor John. For the past →
Maui Day 4: In which I finally make it snorkeling
I was a bit behind on one of my favorite webcomics, but I decided to catch up last night, and when I saw this one from Monday, I had to laugh. ~ Because I finally made it snorkeling yesterday, there's a dearth of pictures, or at least compared to my usual, ummm, overkill? I freely admit that I have a bit of →
Maui Day 3: Oh the weather outside is… pretty nice, actually
On Sunday, while we were sitting at a bus stop at a mall, groggily waiting for our second bus of the day, John observed how odd it was to be hearing Christmas music when it was 80 degrees and humid outside. I laughed then, but when we were out and about today and I heard yet another rendition of "Let →
Maui Trip Days 0, 1, and 2: Maui Christmas!!
What was the hint in yesterday's picture? Here, let me post it again: ~ I've never taken a spur of the moment vacation before, and I've certainly never taken one to someplace like Maui. But here it is, 5:00 Tuesday morning (stupid jet lag), and I'm sitting on the couch of the timeshare we scored on Ka'anapali beach, listening to the waves →
115,000 frequent flier miles
I've never taken a spur-of-the-moment vacation before, but this past Thursday, an opportunity came up that was too fantastic to pass up. We made the final decision early Friday morning, and at 3AM I cashed in every single one of my accrued frequent flier miles (as well as 11K of John's) to buy a pair of plane tickets. Where? Well, →
