The Pour de France – Sacramento’s second annual Bastille Day Waiter Race
I didn’t have any exciting plans for last night — just another Thursday, and I figured I’d stay home and work on my backlog of post-processing.
Then yesterday morning I got wind via Sacramento Connect that in the evening, a scant three blocks from my apartment, the second annual Sacramento Bastille Day Waiter Race would be held. Now, given that I’ve never actually SEEN a waiter race, and given that it was practically in my back yard, this sounded like a lot more fun than sitting and staring at my increasingly slow and grumpy computer.
I initially took my camera just to take pictures… I mean, that’s what I do, right? But somewhere along the line of going through the pictures, a song popped into my head, and, well, I just had to run with it (er, no pun intended.)
So y’all have to watch the video. It’ll only take a few minutes, I promise. And make sure you turn the sound on.

(Oh, and things I should know better than to do and yet somehow stupidly forget: manually setting my ISO instead of letting the camera choose it. I shoot aperture priority, but that only gives me a default shutter speed of 1/100 when I’m on auto ISO. WHOOPS. Sorry for the blurry pics, folks. :-p)
