I’m getting back into the swing of things. The Giants, on the other hand…

This past Saturday, I (a Canon fan) went with

John (a Giants fan), Dom (a Dodgers fan) and Josh (a Braves fan)

to AT&T Park

with (42,395 - 4 =) 42,391 other fans

to watch the Giants play the Braves.

We sat in the

upper nosebleed section -- the absolute highest row you can get and still be inside the stadium. And we had a fantastic view of the Bay!

Tim Lincecum

was pitching for the Giants, and I was having

ENTIRELY too much fun with my camera and 70-200 mm lens.

In fact, there are even more pictures here (since I couldn’t fit them all into this post.)

I want to enter this contest. But instead of a ceremonial first pitch or World Championship gear, can I just have two innings at field level with my camera? Please?

My 70-200 lens is awesome. Not only is it

able to capture on-base action without a problem,

but it’s also able to

isolate a Braves fan in a sea of black and orange.

Unfortunately,

Lincecum batted about as well as most pitchers, and the rest of the Giants followed suit, meaning

we saw a lot less of this

and a lot more of this. (Shut up, Josh.)

This made the Giants look

dejected,

while the Braves fans looked

happy, even when holding an overpriced beer and being forced to wear a giant floating Giants hat between innings.

Eventually, the Giants wisely decided

Lincecum had had enough.

I think they realized this when

the ump mooned Lincecum.

Just kidding. I think.

The Braves were so bored that

they decided to play Ring Around the Rosie.

Fortunately,

Giants fans are a stoic bunch, and took the results in stride. Well, at least the more mature ones did.

The less mature ones (and the Braves fans)…

...not so much. Apparently the final score was 5 (Braves fingers) to 2 (Giants fingers.) And I think Josh is still gloating.

I was vastly amused. What a fun day. :-)

Your running commentary is too funny. The good thing about that stadium is that no matter where you are sitting, it is till a pretty good seat.

    best,
