Good boy, Moose
I took this picture at the Horses, Hope, and Healing Holiday toy and tack drive at my barn that I wrote about a couple of weeks ago. The rain actually held off for most of the day (although it’d poured the day before, so it was still pretty muddy) and much fun was had. For some reason, a lot of the kids in the program love Moose (something about him being a personable goof, I guess) and so I let them taking turns riding him. Usually they just walked him, but I let this one kid have a bit of fun since (a) he’s a decent rider, and (b) he took care of Moose while I was in Hawaii, and instead of being paid in cash, he requested rides on Moose. Yeah, I can handle that. :-) I also bought him a pair of rubber boots as a thank-you, since it’s pretty muddy out there and he doesn’t have any.
He’s a great kid, and man I love that horse. He’s so good. And I say that after we put on an impromptu rodeo yesterday for a bunch of frisbee golfers (who then gave us a round of applause after I managed to stay on. Hey, the weather was nice, and Moose was feeling pretty good. I just laughed.) :-)
