The best field trip EVER–Google!!
So I know that today is Tuesday and thus this should be a Moose post, but between weather and time, I haven’t had a chance to take any interesting pics. Besides, I took an awesome field trip yesterday, and I wanted to post pics of that!! So I’ll try to get a Moose pic or two up tomorrow, but if not, it’ll have to wait until next week. :-)
Yesterday I traveled out to Mountain View to the Google mothership campus to meet a friend for lunch. I got a tour and everything, and since I’m a HUGE nerd, it totally made my month. Thank you SO MUCH Justin for taking time out of your day to show me around — I SOOOO appreciate it!!! :-D

One of the first things I noticed before even getting to the parking area was the proliferation of these brightly-colored bikes. Apparently they exist for people to grab and use to get from place to place quickly, and then people just leave them for the next person to use. This feral bicycle was next to a garbage dumpster in the parking lot, looking rather lonely. I should have grabbed it and ridden it over. :-)

This was the control for the toilet. Thankfully, it had a flush sensor, so I didn't have to figure out which button to push, but I really wanted to push all of them just to see what would happen. Oh, and it had a SEAT WARMER!! Win!!

Me in the ball pit. You really didn't think I was going to pass up a chance to climb in it, did you? :-)
.

The weather was absolutely GORGEOUS--we were supposed to have a huge storm, but I don't even think it so much as sprinkled until my last 10 minutes of my drive home.

BigDroid, the Google Android operating system mascot, along with a Nexus 1 Android phone and a donut, which was the working name for Android 2.0.

Starting in the back left, the thing sticking up is Froyo (Android 2.2, the current iteration of their OS), Gingerbread (Android 2.3, the upcoming release), Cupcake (Android 1.6--the first official version) and Eclair (Android 2.1.) In case you missed the theme, it's an alphabetical dessert list--Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, and Gingerbread. Yes, I am a huge nerd. Yes, I thought this whole thing was awesome.

There are a few more pictures at the set here on my Flickr, if you’re interested. :-)
